Bogart Sports Complex Playground

 The playground located near the Bogart Sports Complex Field 6 was installed in 2002.  Over the years, it has served as a playscape for thousands of families of Oconee County Little League to OCPRD tackle football, as well as Oconee residents.  The Oconee Park Foundation is excited to support the replacement of the playground with a play system that meets best practices that activate play, promotes inclusion, and fosters social interaction.  The new playground will incorporate the six key elements of play that promote physical activity – balancing, brachiating, climbing, spinning, sliding, and swinging.  It will also provide a developmentally appropriate progression of skill opportunities that challenge youth and encourages movement in a playful environment. Estimated costs for the playground replacement project is approximately $350,000.

  The Heritage Park concept plan was revised in 2023, after considerable community and user group input.  The park improvement plan includes updates to the arena area to expand its potential usage, adding outdoor equestrian arenas, expanding the number of stables, adding mountain bike skills course and pump track, restroom upgrades and additions, as well as grading and infrastructure for parking, lighting and maintenance equipment.  Estimated costs to complete the entire improvement projects is approximately $7M.
